Daniel Coren, "Why Can We Be Friends? Aristotle's EN 1159a3-13"
Daniel argues that, for Aristotle, all friendships require a considerable degree of rational self-interest. He argues, further, that this insight helps to solve two widely discussed puzzles: (1) whether friendship norms conflict with moral norms, and (2) whether they conflict with epistemic norms.
